“God, I am Confused and CAN'T Figure THIS Out”

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. Remember the LORD in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.” ~ Proverbs 3:5-6 (Good News Bible)

Every so often or perhaps often, Christians encounter seasons of their life where they are absolutely confused and don’t know what to do. What do YOU do when you are confused? Sometimes we reach towards the phone, look for a sermon online, talk to our Pastor or another spiritual guide, read the Word of God, relate with family etc. etc. There are many things that we CAN do when we are confused, but what SHOULD we do? Is there a right way to face confusion? Many of the things we are confused about as Christians, especially the younger generation is life itself. What do I do with my life? What’s my purpose? Why am I alive? Lord, are You going to do this for me? Lord, why haven’t You done this for me? All of which can plague us with guilt, shame and satanic harassment, so what we do when we face confusion is extremely important. A godly decision in this moment can bring back your peace, give you direction, give you vision and clarity and even bring you into a new awareness of God.

The Bible tells us not to lean to our own understanding, in other words, don’t think you know it all, and don’t think you have the plan or the experience to know the will of God for your life. Don’t rely on yourself. The first step in confusion is admitting it to God in prayer, without doing this we just sit on the bed, ride around, talk to nobody and inwardly weep. When God desires to speak to us, He will, but we have a choice to run to Him. God is not too busy for you to pray. He WANTS you too. Second, we need to run to the Word of God. If you want Gods direction, get in God’s Word. The Bible will give us clarity on where we are in life. You say, where do I read? The thing about Gods Word and His Holy Spirit is, He will just lead you to the right passages, but don’t just give up because you didn’t get the answer you wanted within five minutes. Allow and use the times of confusion to make God more real to you. Thirdly, you should wait, to make a decision in moments of confusion is extremely costly, sometimes it can cost our lives, finances, health, career and marriage, yet God can restore all of that. Decisions in times of confusion and chaos are a bad couple. Do not make a rash decision when you feel this way, think about it, take your time, let God direct you and clear your mind, give Him a reason. Perhaps you are experiencing this confusion because God is trying to clear your mind and prepare you to move to another level. Think about it! God Bless!

Father in Jesus Name, I come to You grateful and thankful. Lord, speak to my heart. Help me in those down times; pull me out of depression, guilt and shame. Lord, loose me from anything hindering me from receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit in my life. Lord activate the gifts inside of me and give me a new heart and desire to use them for Your glory. Holy Spirit, when You call, cancel fear and delete doubt. Father, I reach to You for the help I need in my private life and I pray for those who have ever prayed for me, that they would receive this prayer as well in Jesus Name! AMEN!
